Alrighty, the day you’ve been waiting for is finally here! Woo hoo! You guys asked me some fun and interesting questions, though I have to say most of them were softballs. I guess I’ll just have to reveal the nitty-gritty stuff on my own. Ha, ha!
Tortuga_Runner asked:
Have you read Chris K’s responses? H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S!
Huh, okay, nothing like setting my bar too high right from the get-go…of course I read Chris K’s responses (I’ve read pretty much everyone’s responses, except for the ones posted today that I still have in my reader). I will not be that funny.
What deodorant/antiperspirant do you use?
I don’t. I’ve tried dozens and don’t like any of them – they all clump and show up white, even the ones that are supposedly clear and non-clumpy, so mostly I just go stinky. In a real pinch, I use IronHubs’.
Ice cream, gelato or fro-yo?
Ice cream all the way, baby!
Book, book on tape or magazine?
I’ve never listened to a book on tape, so this probably isn’t a fair question, but I’ll go with book. I read a few magazines, too.
Star Wars or Star Trek (Hint: there are only 2 right answers, Star Wars or both)?
Well, thankfully, I was going to answer this question correctly, even without the hint! Thanks to a trio of Star Wars geeks fans in the house, I have most of all six movies memorized and ready for handy quoting. These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.
Star Trek the original TV show was played as reruns from 4 – 5 pm every weekday when I was in high school, so I have most of them memorized, too. I’ve seen the movies, but was mostly unimpressed, except for the recent one. Chris Pine is yum-tastic.
Char asked:
What’s your most embarrassing training/racing moment?
Yeah, that would be the three count-‘em THREE marathons where I walked from Mile 14 – the finish while puking on the side of the road. You can read about one of them here.
milesforbreakfast asked:
Who is your biggest inspiration?
At the risk of getting all cheesy on you, I’m gonna go with you guys! Seriously, reading other people’s blogs inspires me every day. You are all dreaming big and accomplishing amazing things!
Christi asked:
What is your degree in?
Ha! Criminology. A field I have never worked in, which is really saying something for a girl who has held a whopping 20 jobs in the last 25 years.
Brad Pitt or George Clooney?
Is it okay if I say both?
Teamarcia asked:
Do you have a marathon on your schedule?
Absolutely! I’m doing the CIM again this year, and I can’t wait! I’m going to go with a different training plan this year, which I’m really looking forward to. More on that in a few weeks, when I’m done with my next duathlon and can start thinking about marathon training.
Kara asked:
Have you ever seen “The Descent?”
No, but I just imdb’d it and that would be a big, fat NO, I will not be watching that movie. Ever.
Team Edward or Jacob?
Team Edward, no question.
Favorite President of all time?
Ummmm, I’ll be honest, I’m pretty much apolitical, but Slick Willy had some undeniable charisma.
ajh asked:
What was she reading (in response to the story about a woman who was out for a walk and reading a book at the same time)?
I have no idea, but it looked like a regular paperback book. Must’ve been a good one!
McDreamy or McSteamy?
Sadly, on this one I have to go with “neither.” I don’t watch that show and I don’t find either one of them particularly appealing. I hope we can still be friends!
Book or Kindle?
I’m old-fashioned, it’s gotta be a book. Preferably a library book!
Favorite three books?
This is the hardest question on the whole list, for sure! In general, my favorite book is whatever I’m reading right now. I’ve read so many great books, I’m hard-pressed to name any of them as my favorites, but here’s a Top Five list:
- The Harry Potter series – yes, I’m a Potter-nerd! I’ve re-read this series more times than I can count.
- The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series – Well-written, funny, fast-paced, and imaginative. If you haven’t read them, you should. In fact, let’s go ahead and include Rick Riordin’s other series’ as well: The Kane Chronicles and The Heroes of Olympus.
- The Hunger Games trilogy – I just finished these and I can’t get them out of my head.
- The Red Tent – yes, occasionally I read “grown-up” books, too. But not very often.
- Where the Red Fern Grows – A sentimental favorite, I have read this book at least 20 times, maybe more.
runningonwords asked:
What made you decide to become a blogger?
I have a terrific circle of friends who don’t run and I had SO much to say about running that I had to get it out in words somehow. Imagine my surprise when I discovered hundreds of other like-minded souls on the interwebs. Oh, happy day!
Favorite TV show?
I don’t watch much TV for myself. It’s on a lot, but it’s generally tuned to my kids’ shows. Would you laugh at me if I said my favorite show was The Regular Show? That’s some pretty funny stuff.
Coming soon…Part Two!!
Tortuga_Runner says
Yay, good answers! Wish I could go stinky, deodorant ruins my shirts or makes me smell worse sometimes. If it isn’t floating out there already can we get a list of all 20 jobs? That is crazy by the way.
runningonwords says
I have never seen The Regular Show. I’m going to go check that out and prepare to be amazed!
Christi says
I was looking at the Hunger Game the other day. I guess I should have picked it up.
Kara says
I loved reading your answers. 20 jobs in 25 years? Wow. 🙂
bobbi says
I have been crappy at getiing in on the questions, but I am LOVING reading everyone’s Q&A…
The Jesse says
I’m interested to hear about all these jobs you’ve had too.
Yay for Team Edward!!!

These posts have been so fun to read! Great answers!
misszippy says
I loved the Red Tent.
CIM is on my list one of these days–I’m glad to hear you like it!
Michael says
No deo huh? Wow, I don’t think I could go a day without it. I forgot to wear it to work one day and I thought I was going to die all day. I think I am just naturally extra stinky!
You had that kind of experience in 3 marathons and you are going to do another one….now that’s the spirit!
Teamarcia says
Maybe try one of those voodoo crystal deodes.
Yay for CIM! The peer pressure to run this is mounting. Let’s see if I can stay in one piece first.
ajh says
I love your answer to why do you blog. Perfect way of saying it. I bet it is true for a lot of us.
And yes we can still be friends.
Colleen says
Love these!
Julie says
No deodorant??!!
Hmm…Mine never seem to work that well…but they are better than nothing. I would have NO friends.
I’m a real book over computerized book, too. I prefer library books for fiction but for non-fiction, I like to scribble in the margins, highlight and circle, so I have to spend the dough on those myself.
